Elevated Deck Waterproofing

Elevated Decks / Balconies

Most Critical Systems (Commercial and Residential)

Waterproofing elevated decks is one of the most critical of the various waterproofing projects to be undertaken.  Failure of these quasi roofing systems can incur enormous damage to the structural elements of the building below.  The cost of repairing an out of date or failed waterproofing system can pale in comparison to the cost of repairing the concrete subsurface or wood framed deck systems which it is designed to protect.

From simple concrete spall repairs and patching to complete removal and replacement, we provide structural restoration repairs to balconies of any type: cast-in-place concrete, post tension, precast concrete, steel and concrete, and even wood. Included in our balcony restoration services are structural sloping, waterproof membrane systems and coatings, balustrade and hand railing repairs, modifications and full replacements.

Proven Waterproofing Systems

Depending on the scope of wok we typically choose from the following proven systems of which we are one of the few Certified Applicators in the Southeastern United States:

Kemper System - Kemperol is a complete, cold-liquid applied resin based waterproofing and surfacing system, offering many advantages over other flat roof systems or hot-applied methods. It's also a dedicated system, ideal for repair, renewal or new build, using specific products for specific applications - unlike the 'one size fits all' solutions typically available.

Tremco Vulkam 350/351 Systems which combine a flexible and durable urethane basecoat with an ultra-violet and ozone resistant topcoat yielding an elastomeric and waterproofing seamless coating.  The flexibility and elasticity of the Vulkem 450/451 System allows for normal movement without surface cracking. The one-part basecoat and topcoat offer ease of application and substantial labor saving over conventional two-component products.

Ensure Proper Drainage at Elevated Decks

Ceramic and stone tiles are durable, easy to maintain, and hygienic, representing the ideal surface coverings. However, today's lightweight construction methods can make the installation of hard surface coverings particularly challenging. In order to protect the integrity of the tile assembly, an underlayment that performs multiple functions is required.  We use Schluter-DITRAmat, learn more.
