Long favored as the hideaway of the rich and famous, Bal Harbour Village covers approximately one third of a square mile and is one of the smallest municipalities in Miami-Dade County. Within this storied enclave, WCI proudly introduced One Bal Harbour in 2008, an impeccably designed 26-story luxury condominium that proves "Perfection is Singular."

Surface preparation at the roof decks include; cleaning and drying, the epoxy at dowels were ground down to remove gloss and lumps, loose dowels were removed and re-set. Concrete finish was prepared to equal a light broom finish and curbs were installed at duct work, vents and pipes. Following good drainage practice, the structural slab was sloped to drain a minimum of 1/8” (3.2mm) per run ning foot (30.5cm). All shrinkage cracks were treated with a 60 mil (1.5mm) coating of TREMproof 250GC, six inches (15.3cm) wide centered over the crack.

The first layer of protection in the waterproofing process included the application of Vulkem at all transitions and penetrations. Vulkem 350/351 is used to create a seamless, monolithic waterproof membrane to smooth concrete,

Due to TREMproof 250GC's unique chemistry, it is the ideal single component waterproofing membrane for high-build applications in both horizontal and vertical applications. High-Build Systems are used in critical below-grade waterproofing applications where additional membrane thickness is required for the success of the project. TREMproof 250GC is high solids, VOC compliant, modified polyurethane waterproofing membrane that can be applied to green or damp concrete in both standard or high-build systems. This particular layer we applied to the maximum thickness of 120 mils.

Due to the fact that TREMproof 250GC is a rapidly curing membrane a protection course of Tremco Protection Mat and/or an approved TREMDRAIN drainage mat can be applied after only 4 hours of cure at 75ºF (23˚C), 50% relative humidity.

- Roof deck waterproofing system installation
- Waterproofing of elevated plaza decks
- Waterproofing of private balcony decks
- Epoxy injection, concrete repair and detailing

Here we'll review the installation process of the waterproofing system using TREMproof 250 GC at the multiple roof decks.
