External features such as air conditioning ledges, bay windows and planter boxes are increasingly being used in commercial and residential building projects.  There are many environmental benefits when using planter boxes in both homes and hi-rise buildings, not to mention the enhancement to the building design.  But if not installed properly these features allow water seepage that can potentially damage the structural components.  Special consideration needs to be taken when waterproofing planter boxes and other external features, and we have the expertise to implement proven solutions.

We use proven systems like Tremco’s Vulkam 450/451 Systems which combines a flexible and durable urethane basecoat with an ultra-violet and ozone resistant topcoat to yield an elastomeric and waterproofing seamless coating.  The flexibility and elasticity of the Vulkem 450/451 System allows for normal movement without surface cracking. The one-part basecoat and topcoat offer ease of application and substantial labor savings over conventional two-component products. 

 

The Kemper System is a two part resin technology system – it’s a cold-applied liquid resin combined with their polyester fleece material which cures to form a fully reinforced monolithic membrane.  The thickness and strength of the Kemper membrane can be controlled and it’s a seamless technology eliminating any areas of fatigue or weakness.  It is also self terminating eliminating the need for fasteners, and adhesives.  It is UV and chemical resistant, odorless, root and rot resistant making it Impervious to bio deterioration and it’s unaffected by standing water or ice.  These products adhere to any substrate, vertical or horizontal and can be used in many ways, on roofs, planter boxes, fountains, etc…
